My bookish resolutions for 2018
Most people I know are aware of how much I love my #kindle ... I love reading in the dark, buying new books at crazy times of the night without leaving my bed and downloading a whole heap of books before I travel.
I’ve have been feeling a bit guilty lately though for not supporting my local bookshop as much as I could, especially after reading The Diary of a Bookseller by Shaun Bythell (on my Amazon Kindle!) over Christmas. Yes, they actually shoot a Kindle and hang it up in the shop!
So ... even though I’m not really into New Years Resolutions, I’ve decided to try and buy every present (for others) in 2018 from a bookshop.
The photo is of my recent purchases from my local Eltham Bookshop for the current round of 4 year old birthdays ... which picture book did you read over and over as a child? Mine was ‘Are you my Mother’ by PD Eastman.
My other bookish resolution is to start reading poetry again. I've realised I haven't really been reading any poetry since my University days ... so I've bought The Complete Poetry of Edgar Allan Poe and Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur (my choice for our 2018 bookclub list) to get me started. Do you have any other poetry suggestions for me?
